Not exercise.
A conversation with
your body.

Balance & Vitality is a specialist movement programme for older adults, drawing on 25 years of practice across yoga, Thai Massage, somatic movement, and partner work. It is offered to retirement communities, residential care homes, and older adults seeking something with genuine depth.

Most movement programmes focus on what the body can do. This one works with what the body can feel — restoring the proprioceptive awareness that underpins confident, easy movement in everyday life.

The work is gentle, intelligent, and profoundly relational. It meets each person where they are — not where a curriculum says they should be.

01 Balance & Stability
Improved proprioceptive awareness and postural confidence — the quiet intelligence that keeps us upright and at ease.
02 Movement Confidence
A renewed trust in the body's capacity — reducing the movement-related anxiety that can quietly narrow life as we age.
03 Connection & Ease
The relational, partner-based elements of the work address something exercise rarely touches: the restoration that comes from moving with another person.
04 Breath & Calm
Breath-led movement settles the nervous system and creates a quality of inner quiet that carries into daily life long after the session ends.
05 Spaciousness in the Body
Gentle exploration of the spine, hips, and shoulders — recovering range of movement that most people assume is simply lost to age.
06 A Meaningful Practice
Something to look forward to, return to, and grow within — not a health intervention, but a genuine practice that belongs to each participant.

Balance is not a destination. It is one of the great teachers — a quality we can develop and evolve across a lifetime of practice.

Years of embodied practice

This work began in 1999 with a severe break of tibia and fibula — and a direct encounter with what it means to lose and slowly recover the most basic relationship with your own body. What followed was a 25-year inquiry that has never stopped.

That origin matters for this programme. Jesse doesn't approach older bodies as bodies in decline. He approaches them as bodies with histories — with hard-won experience, particular wisdom, and enormous unrealised capacity. The work is designed accordingly.

Jesse teaches across multiple studios and gyms in Hertfordshire and is the founder of The Felt Body — a named, teachable system synthesising a lifetime of practice across yoga, Thai Massage, AcroYoga, and somatic movement. He brings genuine expertise, unhurried attention, and a deep respect for each individual he works with.

Bring Balance & Vitality
to your community

Whether you're a residence coordinator curious about what the programme looks like in practice, or an older adult interested in working together directly — I'd love to hear from you.

I offer complimentary taster sessions to local residences. The most honest way to understand this work is to experience it.
